CNC V-grooving channel milled into stainless steel sheet before bending

Sharp corners are engineered

Laser → V-groove → bend → fabricate → finish → QC. One process chain, in one facility.

Detail

How MCS uses it

01

Repeatability

The value of CNC bending is not one good bend, it is the thousandth one matching the first. Programmes are held so a repeat order matches the approved sample.

02

Thickness range

0.25 mm to 4 mm. Thin sheet marks and distorts easily; thicker sheet needs more tonnage and a larger internal radius unless it is grooved first.

03

Bend allowance

Developed length is calculated per material, thickness and bend condition. A V-grooved bend develops differently from a plain one — treating them the same is the usual reason a folded section arrives short.

04

Sequence

Bend order decides what is reachable. A section that looks simple on paper can be impossible to form if the last bend has nowhere for the tool to go, which is one of the things a fabrication review catches.

05

Combined with grooving

Where the external corner is visible, bending follows V-grooving. Where it is concealed, a conventional bend is the sensible and cheaper choice.

06

Long formats

Architectural profiles are produced in long lengths to reduce joints in a visible run. Maximum length is confirmed per enquiry.
