Brass
Solid brass, not brass-plated steel. Warm, bright and unmistakably itself — and it will change over time unless it is lacquered, which is a specification decision to make before sample sign-off.

| Properties | Warm yellow tone, machines and polishes beautifully, softer than steel, and develops a patina on exposure to air and handling. |

| Where to specify | Trim profiles, inlay strips, handles, lift interiors, bar and reception cladding, decorative screens — anywhere the metal is meant to be noticed. |
| Finishes | Mirror, brushed, antique. Lacquered to hold the as-delivered colour, or left unlacquered to age. |
| Fabrication notes | Moves differently from steel under the brake and shows every handling mark, so the buffing sequence matters as much as the cutting. |
| The patina question | An unlacquered brass detail will not look the same in two years. That is either the point or a problem — agree which before the order. |
