What is V-grooving in metal fabrication?

V-grooving is a precision channel-milling operation carried out along the bend line before the sheet is folded. Removing a controlled amount of material lets the metal close to a much smaller radius than a press brake alone can produce, giving architectural profiles a sharp, near-zero-radius external corner with a cleaner joint.

What is sharp-edge bending?

Sharp-edge bending is MCS's way of folding sheet metal so the outside corner is crisp rather than rounded. A CNC V-groove is milled along the bend line first, the sheet is folded on the press brake, and the corner closes to a near-zero external radius — a profile, panel or cladding edge that reads as machined, not folded. It is the operation MCS is set up around.

Does MCS supply individuals, or single pieces?

No. MCS works business-to-business, on project quantities, with architects, interior designers, PMCs, contractors, developers and fabricators. Prototypes and samples are made as the first step of a project, on the same machines as the production run.

Who does MCS work with?

Architects and interior designers who detail the metalwork; PMCs, consultants and contractors who deliver the project; developers and fabricators who procure it. Most work begins with a drawing, a fabrication review and a sample, then goes to production quantity.

Does MCS make extrusions, castings or round pipe?

No. Everything MCS makes starts as flat sheet — stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper, bronze, mild steel or zinc, 0.25 to 4 mm — and is laser-cut, V-grooved and folded. That covers any profile or section an extrusion would give (in metals extrusions cannot be), square and rectangular pipe with sharp corners, panels, cladding, ceilings and fabricated assemblies. Solid bar, castings, drawn round tube and forgings are outside the process.

Which metals does Metal Craft Studio fabricate?

Stainless steel, aluminium, brass, bronze, copper, mild steel and zinc, in thicknesses from 0.25 mm to 4 mm, finished in mirror, hairline, matte, bead blast, antique or brushed, PVD (gold, rose gold, champagne gold, black, bronze) and powder coating.

Why does MCS apply finishes after fabrication?

Pre-coated sheet leaves raw, uncoated metal exposed at every cut and every joint. MCS cuts, bends, welds and buffs each piece first and coats it afterwards, so the colour is continuous across faces, edges and welds.

Does MCS work from architects' drawings?

Yes. Most MCS work begins as a supplied drawing rather than a catalogue number. Send a PDF, DWG or DXF and MCS returns a fabrication review covering material, thickness, bend sequence, groove positions, finish and any point where the geometry cannot be produced as drawn.

Does MCS handle bulk and production orders?

Yes. Prototype, sample, bulk and contract production run on the same machines, so what is approved at sample stage is reproducible at quantity.

Why is there no online pricing?

A quotation depends on material, thickness, dimensions, profile, quantity, number of bends, grooves, laser processing, finish and complexity. A fixed published price would be either wrong or so padded as to be useless.

Where does MCS supply?

From the manufacturing facility in Narela, Delhi, across Delhi NCR and to projects throughout India.

Can I get physical samples?

Yes, and you should. No screen or printed swatch reproduces a metal finish honestly — finish should be signed off on physical metal in the intended grade and thickness.

How long has Metal Craft Studio been operating?

Metal Craft Studio was established in 2001 in Delhi. The 2026 company profile describes it as an integrated precision manufacturing partner: CNC fibre laser cutting, V-grooving, CNC bending and in-house fabrication under one roof at Narela, converting customer drawings into finished metal components and assemblies.

How is quality checked during a job?

Work is executed against the customer's drawings and project requirements, with inspection checkpoints after design, after cutting, after grooving, after bending and after final fabrication. A piece does not move to the next operation until the previous one has been checked.

Does MCS support installation on site?

MCS's process ends with inspection, packing, dispatch and installation support. The scope of site support depends on the project, so state it in the quotation request and it is confirmed with the quote.

Can I see the work before ordering?

Yes. The Gallery page shows photographs of delivered metalwork by division and the process reels from MCS's YouTube channel — cutting, V-grooving and bending as they happen. Physical samples are available on request, and a visit to the Narela workshop and showroom can be arranged through the contact page.
